Tina Roth Eisenberg (Swissmiss) started CreativeMornings out of a desire for an ongoing, accessible event for New York’s creative community. The concept was simple: breakfast and a short talk one Friday morning a month. Every event would be free of charge and open to anyone.
Today, CreativeMornings’ monthly breakfast talk series has grown to more than 200 cities in 60+ countries reaching the largest face-to-face creative community in the world: a passionate global audience of nearly 500,000.
With the support of Adobe, CreativeMornings turned to Madcap Factory to refine and develop a second event series that would engage their community more deeply between monthly events. Madcap Factory worked intimately with the CreativeMornings team to design a series format, built systems and process to scale it, and in the course of a year produced and managed more than 200 events to engage the CreativeMornings community in NYC. “FieldTrips” are a loose format event series offered by and for individuals and organizations. They are 1-2 hour workshops and tours for 20-30 people that span a massive range of topics. When someone steps up to share a passion or expertise, CreativeMornings celebrates their generosity by helping craft the event, spotlighting their offering, and filling the room. FieldTrips are a celebration of creativity and generosity.
In the course of a year, FieldTrips engaged more than a quarter of existing CMNYC Talks event attendees and expanded the CreativeMornings NYC total attendee community by 40% with the average per person event attendance rate moving from 1.7 to 2.8. FieldTrips now welcome more attendees every month than the original CMNYC Talks series.
